What is Your Favorite Search Engine?

Ten years ago, Yahoo was the most popular search engine on the web. Accompanying Yahoo, Lycos was also widely used. Some years later, the trend changed. Today, Google is the most popular search engine, not Yahoo anymore. The domination of Google Search Engine has been lasting for several years. This made Microsoft releasing their search engine named Bing. Accompanied by exotic photographs changing everyday, Bing looks more eye-catching. I don't know how Microsoft is able to supply all the photographs in daily basis. Perhaps they hire a number of professional photographers to do that. Unfortunately, I find it's quite difficult for Bing to beat Google. Probably because most people are already too addicted to Google, and they don't have enough time to try Bing and find its uniqueness.

Search engines are not only Google, Yahoo, and Bing. There are a great number of search engines on the web. Wikipedia made a list of them. More than a list, Wikipedia also categorized them. You can check it if you want. Among all, Google, Yahoo, Bing, and Ask.com are at the top-rank.

Each search engine certainly has its own algorithm. Therefore, the search results can be different among the search engines. Each search engine is trying to give the best search results to netters. The best results here means web links that the netters really need. If you want to get the difference among the search engines, just try some of them.

Search engines may be the most frequently accessed websites on the web. The reason is simple: because people start everything from the search engines. They find everything they need on the search engines.
As a consequence, most website owners try to do everything to increase the rank of their websites on search engines. What they do includes a technique called Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

Search engines usually classify the search objects into webs, images, videos, blogs and directory. Some of them - like Google - also classify the search objects into global and local. Moreover, most of them offer advanced search as well as simple search. Using advanced search, you can make some search limitations.

I personally am interested much in another search engine called Clusty.com. I think it's really different from others. Like the name, Clusty.com offers clustering in its search service. This is awesome, isn't it?
